KATY + PAUL : ENGAGED IN RESTON, VIRGINIA

Katy and Paul have one of my favorite “how we met” stories. They met at Lake Fairfax in Reston, Virginia while playing kickball with mutual friends. What would be a better location to shoot engagement photos at right? We trekked all over Lake Fairfax one recent fall morning snapping some great photos, getting to know each other a bit and of course talking about all the wedding details, Paul even brought a kickball to toss around. Katy told me after the weekend kickball games she and Paul would regularly head over to Carpool, their local bar just down the street. With Katy and Paul being regular customers, the manager at Carpool let us in before they opened to take some photos. He even set us up with a few ice cold beers at 10 am. It was 5 o’clock somewhere, or so I told myself while indulging in a few. I’m very much looking forward to Katy and Paul’s destination wedding at the Salero in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware this summer. In 2011 I met and photographed 24 engagement sessions for 24 amazing couples. I know I say it all the time but I am so lucky to have such amazing client they are flipping gorgeous and make my job so much fun.

BRIANNA + CHRIS : ENGAGED IN ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND

On what was certainly one of the windiest days Brianna, Chris and I met at Sandy Point State Park near Annapolis, Maryland to take their engagement photos. Sandy Point State Park has a gorgeous beach that overlooks the Chesapeake Bay and the William Preston Lane Jr. Memorial Bay Bridge. The bridge plays a symbolic memory for both Brianna and Chris. While Brianna was in college at Salisbury University Chris would travel there to visit her on the weekends. We trekked all over the 786-acre park talking about their wedding plans, how they met and how could I not mention hanging out with their awesome dog Reno. I can’t wait for their upcoming wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club next May. Cheers!

RACHEL + NATE : ENGAGED IN SALISBURY, MD

I met Rachel and Nate at Pemberton Historical Park in Salisbury, Maryland a few weeks ago to take their engagement photos. Rachel and I had been hoping to take advantage of some of the fall colors before all of the leaves fell off the trees, we definitely lucked out! Pemberton Historical Park is such a fun place to shoot, that is if you don’t mind dodging a few other photographers from time to time (it’s quite the hot spot in Salisbury). I had a ton of fun getting to know Rachel and Nate and learn more about their wedding in Ocean City, Maryland at Harrison’s Harbor Watch Restaurant next year. Enjoy!

JULIE + MIKE : ENGAGED IN REHOBOTH BEACH, DE

Road tripping it from New Jersey, Julie and Mike met me in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware to hang out for a few hours and take their engagement photos. It’s always fun getting to know your clients and working with them for the first time. I get to see how they interact with each other which makes my job at the wedding that much easier, a trial run if you will. Julie and Mike were so easy going and fun, definitely my kind of people! The highlight of the day certainly had to be when a couple that was walking down the boardwalk stopped by with their new puppy. Julie had just told me she and Mike were getting a new puppy and she couldn’t wait to get her hands on one. We wrapped up the day at Silver Lake where we found an amazing sunset. I am looking forward to their destination wedding at the Salero in Rehoboth Beach next year!

KATE + COREY : ENGAGED IN WASHINGTON, DC

I was totally pumped when Kate and Corey called and asked if I wouldn’t mind traveling up to Washington, DC to take their engagement photos. Kate told me she had already acquired permits from the National Park Service to shoot at the Lincoln Memorial which was great. I actually had a few friends receive fines for not having them before so that was a huge relief. What an amazing backdrop the National Mall was, I knew their photos were going to be on point. Believe it or not, this was my first time shooting engagement photos in Washington, DC proper so I was really looking forward to it. We shot at the Lincoln Memorial which overlooks the Reflecting Pool, the Washington Monument and the Capital building. We were all super bummed though when we got there and found out the Reflecting Pool had been drained to undergo reconstruction. Regardless we made the best of it and took some amazing photos! We then took a stroll along the Potomac River and then hopped over to Dupont Circle located near Corey’s work which proved for some rock star parking. Dupont Circle is also a stones throw away from the Front Page Restaurant and Grille where Kate and Corey met. Their destination wedding at the Salero in Rehoboth Beach is sure to be one for the record books.

TIFFANY + LEN : ENGAGED IN REHOBOTH BEACH, DELAWARE

I first met Tiffany and Len after wrapping up a shoot in Washington D.C. this summer. We grabbed coffee at a fun little shop in Georgetown, got to know each other a bit and talked about their upcoming destination wedding in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Fast forward to this October where we met back up at Len’s family beach house in Rehoboth Beach and spent an hour or so running around town revisiting some of their favorite spots, wheeling around on their golf cart and just having a great time at the beach. I am very much looking forward to their wedding at the Salero next spring!

REBECCA + KEVIN // SUNSET HILLS VINEYARD WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

From the moment I met Rebecca and Kevin they couldn’t keep their hands off each other. Talk about making my job easy. We met at the Sunset Hills Vineyard in Purcellville, Virginia which is a very special place for both Rebecca and Kevin, it’s where Kevin proposed. After walking around the vineyard getting to know each other and snapping some amazing photos along the way, we decided to grab a bottle of wine and kick back on the deck and enjoy the afternoon. I am very much looking forward to Rebecca and Kevin’s wedding at Veritas Vineyard in Afton, Virginia next year. Enjoy!
