FOUNDATION WORKSHOP // ALLEN, TEXAS

I had the opportunity this year to attend the eighth annual Foundation Workshop in Allen, Texas. I’ve taken a number of training courses over the years, FW8 was one of the most educational ones I’ve taken to date. Foundation Workshop allows wedding photographers the opportunity to work with some of the world’s best photojournalists to develop a more documentary style of wedding photography. I was assigned to Tyler Wirken’s team and had some amazing mentors: Janine McClintock, Sergio and Brett Butterstein. My photojournalism assignment was to document the famous Baby Back Shak in Dallas, Texas where they have a bustling lunch crowd and award winning food. There were a lot of up’s and down’s for me mentally. I think overall my experiences I learned here will ultimately make me a better photographer. I am happy for the opportunity and I look forward to seeing my work progress. Many thanks to the staff and photographers who documented the event. I’d be remissed if I didn’t mention Joe G for introducing me to the opportunity.

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY – BARK FOR LIFE // OCEAN PINES, MARYLAND

I had the pleasure of being asked to document the 1st Annual North Worcester County “Bark For Life” fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The event was held at the South Gate of Ocean Pines, Maryland and despite having soggy weather was well attended. There were vendors selling dog treats, dog toys and dog accessories. There were food vendors and contests the dogs and owners could enter, my favorite was the dog kissing contest! There were even elementary school kids signing “Who Let the Dogs Out”. Many thanks to Allison and Aaren for asking me to document the event, I’ll definitely be back next year with my big brown dog in tow! SACC YOUNG PROFESSIONALS – TASTE OF THE TOWN ~ ROWEN’S MILL

I almost forgot about it until my trusty iPhone reminded me I needed to head on over to Rowen’s Mill in Fruitland, Maryland for the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Committee networking event. The “Taste of the Town” event featured light hors d’oeuvres from several Salisbury area food vendors such as Liquid Assets, Brew River, ikebana, Station 7, SoBo’s Wine Bistro, Bistro 54, Market Street Inn, Black Diamond Catering, Peaky’s and drink vendors Pepsi and Evolution Craft Brewing Co. The SACC YP committee took a few moments to recognize the vendors and bring the attendees up to speed on the future of the YP’s and other upcoming events. SACC YOUNG PROFESSIONALS SOCIAL ~ BORDELEAU VINEYARDS

I attended the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals networking event held last night at the Bordeleau Vineyards & Winery in Eden, Maryland. Vineyard owner and wine maker Tom Shelton hosted the event and provided wine tasting and cellar tours. A great event to meet some fellow Young Professionals in and around the Salisbury, Maryland area. I recommend the Vidal Blanc if you plan to visit!

SACC YOUNG PROFESSIONALS SOCIAL ~ ROWEN’S MILL

So I decided to check out the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Committee for their Relaunch Party last night at Rowen’s Mill in Fruitland, Maryland. I wasn’t expecting to know anyone, but sure enough there was a handful of people I had already met and even one person whom I shot their wedding just a few months ago. Overall it was a great turnout and I had a fun time. I met a lot of interesting people and am definitely planning on attending the next one! Special thanks to Adam Roop and the gang for organizing it. I’d say it was a success.

GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY VISIT ~ OCEAN CITY

Rob had the opportunity this morning to meet Maryland’s Governor Martin O’Malley. He along with representatives from Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Maryland Emergency Management Agency were in Ocean City this morning to tour the Ocean City Fire Department’s “Fire Safety House” and the City’s Mobile Communications and Command Center (OC 1).

Both units were purchased by the Town with Federal Grants. Rob also had the great pleasure of meeting and shooting beside Mr. Jay L. Baker the Chief Photographer for the Office of the Governor. I’ll be posting more photos soon.

CARROLL’S 65TH BIRTHDAY PARTY ~ FALLSTON

I had the opportunity over the weekend to travel to Fallston, Maryland which is located just outside Bel Air to help celebrate Carroll’s 65th birthday party. Joined by his family and friends, we enjoyed the company of about 35 guests and food and drink that could have fed a small army! Kudos to the chef.
