I always look forward to meeting new people and what a better opportunity than during some fun family beach portraits. When Michelle called me and said her family was flying in from California and vacationing together in Ocean City, Maryland, I was very excited to work my schedule around their plans. I had a great time working with this family and wish you all safe travels back home. Enjoy.

SARAH + LUKE // ENGAGEMENT

It’s not often you get the opportunity to work for your peers let alone your competition. Needless to say I was excited and nervous about shooting Sarah and Luke’s engagement session in Ocean City, Maryland. You see Sarah and Luke are both firefighters in Bethany Beach, Delaware and I’m a firefighter in Ocean City, Maryland. Our departments work and train together often so I’ve seen this couple getting down and dirty… on the fire ground that is. So the competition…. Sarah is also a photographer here on the Eastern Shore. I think we picked one of the hottest days of the summer to shoot their engagement photographs, it had to be at least 100 degrees. You would think living here at the beach you would get used to the temperature… not so much. We met at Northside Park in Ocean City and actually stumbled upon an Art show taking place in the park. While we fought the heat we certainly grabbed some amazing shots that definitely brought out the personality in this couple. Their wedding at Baywood Greens in Long Neck, Delaware this fall is certain to be one to remember. Cheers to you both!

MEREDITH + JEFF // ENGAGEMENT

Meredith, Jeff and I met up on the beach and boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland to shoot their engagement photos. Ocean City is one of my favorite places to shoot engagement photos or wedding photos for that matter, I mean who wouldn’t love shooting at the beach right? Every time I’m at this location I always try and shoot it differently and that’s exactly what happened with this awesome couple. Our original plan was to shoot the day before but mother nature didn’t allow it so we dropped back and punted for the very next morning. While there was no rain in sight, the wind off the ocean was incredible. Nevertheless Meredith and Jeff were troopers and we stomped all over the downtown area and wrapped up at this little gem of a location on the bayside in midtown Ocean City. I am definitely looking forward to my first beach wedding of the season and my first wedding ceremony at Assateague Island National Seashore in Berlin, Maryland. Wishing you both many years of happiness!

JOCELYN + MIKE // ENGAGEMENT

I met up with Jocelyn and Mike at the Boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland to photograph their engagement session on Easter Sunday. I always get excited shooting engagement photos because it’s usually the first time I get an opportunity to work with my clients. Since it’s unlikely that most people have ever worked with a professional photographer, it’s natural they might feel a bit nervous about having their photograph taken in a public setting. Since the wedding day is not the best time to realize those additional pressures, working with me to capture engagement photographs allows them to become more comfortable in front of the camera (and in front of other people). This experience also gives us time to establish a personal relationship. During this engagement session we all have a great time and you will be able to get to know me better both personally and professionally. Jocelyn and Mike were no exception to the rule. From bumper cars at Trimper’s Rides and Amusement Park to trying on funky sunglasses we had a lot of fun walking all around the beach and Boardwalk in Ocean City. It’s couples like this when I realize this is why I do this job…. Documenting life stories and sharing them with their family and the world. Jocelyn and Mike’s wedding in Crisfield, Maryland is sure to be a blast!

MARK’S SENIOR PORTRAITS ~ SALISBURY

I’ve known Mark for several years so when it came time to photograph his senior portraits I knew we would have a blast. We met up at Pemberton Park in Salisbury, Maryland and snagged a ton of really good stuff. We then headed off to the beach and boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland and played around on the boards, beach and fishing pier. We even topped the day off with dinner from Dumser’s Dairyland. JEANINE AND JIMMY ENGAGEMENT ~ OCEAN CITY

Jeanine, Jimmy and I met up in Ocean City, Maryland to shoot their engagement photographs. I’ve actually known Jimmy for years through our mutual affiliation with the Ocean City Fire Department. We did the tourist thing and took a stroll down the boardwalk, stopped into Ripley’s Believe it or Not, took some photos under the Ocean City Fishing Pier and even wrapped it up with a little ice cream from Dumsers Dairyland. Their fall wedding in Ocean City will surely be a blast!

I hooked up with LouAnn and Jeff in Ocean City, Maryland to shoot some beach portraits. They wanted to use them as holiday gifts for friends and family. Even the brisk temperatures and the strong easterly winds off the ocean didn’t hold back all the fun we had while shooting their family portraits.

KRISTIN AND FREDDIE ENGAGEMENT ~ OCEAN CITY

Kristin, Freddie and I hooked up at Ocean City Maryland’s Boardwalk a few weeks ago to shoot some engagement photos. I’ve known Freddie for several years as he is a member of the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company with me. The bottom line, we shot some killer engagement photos and even got a little Skee Ball in at the Sport Land arcade as well. Congrats guys!

AGATA AND JOHN’S WEDDING ~ OCEAN CITY

The day started in Ocean City, Maryland out wondering wether or not the weather was going to hold up for an outside beach wedding, so typical for Ocean City weather. Fortunately the 5 pm ceremony was green lighted and went off without a drop of rain. Since John is in the United States Navy their reception was held at the VFW Post 8296 in Ocean City. What a fun group of people at this wedding. Agata and her family are polish, so the Polish music and the dozens (literally) bottles of Polish vodka set the mood for an evening to remember. Best of luck to Agata and John and thanks for letting us share it with you!

GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY VISIT ~ OCEAN CITY

Rob had the opportunity this morning to meet Maryland’s Governor Martin O’Malley. He along with representatives from Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Maryland Emergency Management Agency were in Ocean City this morning to tour the Ocean City Fire Department’s “Fire Safety House” and the City’s Mobile Communications and Command Center (OC 1).

Both units were purchased by the Town with Federal Grants. Rob also had the great pleasure of meeting and shooting beside Mr. Jay L. Baker the Chief Photographer for the Office of the Governor. I’ll be posting more photos soon.
