Amy and Billy truly enjoyed their day to the fullest. They enjoyed the time with their families and friends. It was this wedding I was truly looking forward to because I got to witness the connection that Amy and Billy shared on their engagement shoot at Longwood Gardens. Their wedding was an intensified expression of just how strong that connection was. Amy and Billy planned a classy wedding affair at the gorgeous Knowlton Mansion in Northeast Philadelphia. There are many moments on a wedding day, one of my favorite is always the first dance. It’s the moment when a couple comes together for an evening of friends, family and those closest to them and just get to spend a few moments soaking in the fact that they are now husband and wife. On a side note, coming from a wedding cinematography background, I am always pleased to see that brides and grooms feel as much importance a wedding film is as they do their wedding photography. Amy and Billy, your wedding was fabulous and I was thrilled we were able to be there to photograph your day.

You see Nancy and Joe had already met with more than a half-dozen other area photographers before me and none of them had met or exceeded their needs. So you can imagine my delightment when Nancy dropped me an email the very next day saying they were so excited they could stop looking, “I was the one”.

When we started discussing locations for engagement shoots, Nancy mentioned Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Nancy also mentioned on a little side note if we could do them in the snow that would be ideal. So we set a date and sure enough would you believe that it actually snowed? I know right, who has that kind of luck. I did make a few phone calls but I wasn’t sure Mother Nature got my message, apparently she heard me LOUD and CLEAR. The only problem is that the snow accumulation was the most the Eastern Shore had seen in over a decade and it completely shut down everything! There was so much snow that Nancy and Joe were without power for several days and couldn’t get out of their neighborhood let alone travel to another state to shoot photos. So we asked for a mulligan and sure enough there was still a little of the white stuff hanging around for their engagement session.

Nancy and Joe were an absolute pleasure to work with and I’m certain their wedding at the Salero in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware this summer will be a blast. Best wishes to you both, you rock!

It seems like just about every other wedding I’ve been to this year involved gray skies, rain or somehow other gloomy weather. Ann and Anthony’s wedding would be right on track and pardon the pun but “PAR for the course”. Regardless of the weather, we had a blast shooting this couples Pennsylvania Wedding and the Manor House and staff put on a memorable affair. It would figure mother nature wasn’t going to cooperate and gave us a steady misting of rain during our entire shoot. Fortunately for us, Longwood Gardens has tons of places indoors. So Jennifer, Randall and I trekked all over the gardens and immersed ourselves not only in the breathtaking surroundings, but in the rich history as well. It was a fantastic engagement session and I can’t wait for their wedding in Camden, Delaware on Thanksgiving Day. Congrats to you both!
